Troubleshooting Storage
Hi there, and welcome to Pluralsight. Tim Warner here welcoming you to the module entitled, Troubleshooting Storage. At Pluralsight we have a learning path setup for the CompTIA A+ 220-901 certification exam. That learning path consists of the following five courses, first, an introduction to the certification, then hardware, networking, mobile devices, and troubleshooting. Troubleshooting, of course, is where we are today. I would encourage you to go to comptia. org and download the 220-901 blueprint, and compare it against the modules in each of these courses. You'll find that as a CompTIA authorized partner, we at Pluralsight have you 100% covered. I know how important that is because I've been taking IT certification exams since 1997. Here are the modules in this troubleshooting course. The first one is not from the exam objectives, but I'm including it for completeness. It's Understanding the CompTIA Troubleshooting Model, then we troubleshot, if that's a term, the motherboard, we're doing storage today, then we'll follow up with modules on the display, the network, mobile devices, and printers. The overview for these troubleshooting modules is largely the same. We're going to do a laundry list of common symptoms and resolutions. These are identified by CompTIA as the most important storage related support issues, and we'll also integrate some coverage of relevant hardware and software technician tools.

Troubleshooting the Network
Hello there, and welcome to Pluralsight. My name is Tim Warner, and this module is entitled, Troubleshooting the Network. Our Pluralsight learning path for the CompTIA A+ 220-901 exam consists of the following courses, an introduction, hardware, networking, mobile devices, and finally, troubleshooting, what we're doing now. Now the hardware, networking, mobile devices, and troubleshooting correspond exactly to CompTIA's blueprint for the 220-901 exam. I encourage you to go to comptia. org and download that and cross check. Here's the table of contents for our troubleshooting course. We began with understanding the CompTIA troubleshooting model, and then we started looking at specific problems and resolutions for different subsystems, like the motherboard, storage, the display, we're doing the network right now, then there's mobile devices, and printers. Our learning goals for this module are, first of all, going through, as has become our custom, a series of common symptoms and their resolutions, of course this time focused on the network, we'll look at hardware tools, and we'll do our demo on a number of network related command line tools, mostly in Windows, in fact, exclusively in Windows. There's one tool that is a Linux OS 10 one, but as we've discussed earlier in this course, and in this learning path, CompTIA does skew their A+ operating system stuff toward Windows, probably due to market dominance. Let's get started. Our CompTIA A+ 220-901 objective here is 4. 4 that says, given a scenario, troubleshoot wired and wireless networks with appropriate tools.

Troubleshooting Mobile Devices
Hi there and welcome to Pluralsight. My name is Tim Warner and this module is entitled, Troubleshooting Mobile Devices. At Pluralsight we have a learning path for the CompTIA A+ 220-901 certification exam. The first course in that path is an introduction to the series, and then the subsequent courses, namely hardware, networking, mobile devices, and now troubleshooting each correspond exactly to content domains found in CompTIA's own 220-901 blueprint. Check the course notes for this module because I point you to that page. We are working our way through the troubleshooting course, which, as I just showed you, is the final course in the 220-901 learning path. The first module in this troubleshooting course deals with the CompTIA troubleshooting model specifically, then for the rest of our time together here we'll apply that model to various hardware contexts, the motherboard, storage subsystem, display, network, here we are with mobile devices, and the final one is on troubleshooting printers. Overview. What are our learning objectives? Well, number one, we're going to look at common symptoms and resolutions. You're probably kind of chuckling to yourself right now thinking, Tim, that's what you've been doing in every module in this course, and it's true, it's true, but once again, I want to draw your attention back to CompTIA's own published blueprint. You'll see these very same symptoms one after the other. I just can't emphasize enough that we cover every single exam objective here in our Pluralsight learning path. We're also going to include some tips for disassembling and reassembling mobile hardware. Earlier in the learning path, you know, we did an entire course on mobile devices. I mentioned that getting original fit and finish is often one of the biggest challenges with mobile device parts repair. We'll revisit that again in this module. In the meantime, let's get right to it, and get started.

Troubleshooting Printers
Hello, and welcome to Pluralsight. My name is Tim Warner, and this module is entitled, Troubleshooting Printers. Let's buzz through the Pluralsight learning path for the CompTIA A+ 220-901 certification exam. The first course is very brief, and serves as an introduction. Then we get into each of the content domains from the 220-901 exam, namely hardware, networking, mobile devices, and this is actually the final module in the troubleshooting course. Congratulations if you've been following these movies sequentially. You've covered a lot of ground and picked up many new skills. As I said, this is the last module in the troubleshooting course. Let's look at how far we've come. The first module dealt with the CompTIA troubleshooting model itself, and then from all the rest of our time actually we've applied the model to practical symptom resolution pairs for the motherboard, the storage subsystem, the display, network, mobile devices, and then here we are today studying printer troubleshooting. By way of overview, we're going to look at, you know, you probably know this slide if you've been following sequentially. We're going to look at common symptoms and resolutions, and technician tools, but of course focusing our effort at printing. Let's get started.
