Hi everyone, my name is Dan John Cox, and welcome to my course Optimized Game Character Modeling. I'm a senior 3D artist in the video games industry. Creating characters for games can be delightful and exciting, but you need to be sure your creation can be animated and rigged easily, while still keeping your model clean and optimal for games performance. This course will teach you how to ensure your models have the right kinds of edge flow, detail level, and efficiency to ensure you create compelling creatures and characters that fit perfectly into your game's performance budget. Some of the major topics that we will cover include using Maya's quad draw tool for retopology, building solid edge flow for animation, unwrapping your character, and aggressive optimization techniques. By the end of this course, you'll know how to create a character model for game development. Before beginning this course, you should be familiar with Autodesk Maya.
